Concept:

Let there be three numbers a,b,c such that a:b=b:c=a/b=b/c

this gives us that b²=a×c

so b here is the mean proportional

How to apply this in question:

we have been given that we have to find mean proportional of 27 and 9

so we can conclude that 27=a

9=c

Solution:

As we have got the values of a and c as 27 and 9

it is easy to find out the value of b

so

as b²=ac

so

b²=27x9=243

b=√243=9√3

hope it helps
