Let the angle be   \large\sf \: {x}^{o}

Complementary angle =

\large \sf \: {90}^{o}  -  {x}^{o} \\  \large \sf \: x =   {90}^{o} -   {x}^{o}  \\ \large =  \sf \: x + x =  {90}^{o} \\  \large\:=  \sf \: 2x = 90^o \\ \large = \sf x = \frac{90}{2} \color{red}(transposing \:  2) \\ \large \sf \: \therefore \: x=45^o
