arrange in ascending order
17,23,28,29,30,33,34,46,57
now there are 9 observations
so median = n+1 /2 th observations
=9+1/2
=10/2
=5 th observations
=30
if 23 is removed then the order becomes
17,28,29,30,33,34,46,57
mean = sum/ number
=273/8
=34.125
HOPE IT HELPS! ! !

17,23,28,29,30,33,34,46,57
n=9
median=(9+1)/2 th observation
median= 5th observation
median=30

when 23 is removed
n=8
median= (8/2thobservation+(8/2+1)the observation)/2
median= (4th observation+ 5th observation)/2
median=(30+33)/2
=31.5
