Question:-

Find mid point of the line segment joining the points

i) (-2,3) and (-6, -5)

Answer: (-4 , -1)

Given:

  • Two points - (-2,3) and (-6, -5)

To Find:

  • Mid point

Formula Used:

Mid \: point \: M \: (x,y) = \: (\frac{x_{1} +x_{2} }{2} , \: \frac{y_{1} + y_{2}}{2})

Solution:

Let,

  • x_1 = -2
  • y_1 = 3
  • x_2 = -6
  • y_2 = -5

Mid \: point \: M \: (x,y) = \: (\frac{x_{1} +x_{2} }{2} , \: \frac{y_{1} + y_{2}}{2})

A (-2,3) = (\frac{( - 2) + ( - 6)}{2} , \: \frac{3 + ( - 5)}{2} )

B (-6,-5) = ( \frac{ - 8}{2} , \: \frac{ - 2}{2} )

= (-4,-1)

Hope it helps ya!!
