y=(x-2)^2+2

In the quadratic function, y=a(x-p)²+q, q is :

maximum value where a<0 or minimum value where a>0

This is because parabola looks like ∩ where leading coefficient is negative,

and because parabola looks like ∪ where leading coefficient is positive.

In the quadratic function, a is a positive value. Therefore 2 is a minimum value.
