Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

data in the above table

To find:-

Mode ?

Solution:-

See the above attachment

We have

Modal class = 70-80

Lower boundary of the modal class (l)=70

Frequency of the modal class (f1) = 32

Frequency of the class preceding the modal class (f0) = 12

Frequency of the class succeeding the modal class (f2) = 20

size of the class (h) = 10

Now , Mode (z) = l + [(f1-f0)/(2f1-f0-f2)]×h

On Substituting these values in the above formula

=>z = 70+ [(32-12)/(2×32-12-20)]×10

=> z = 70+ [ 20/(64-32)]×10

=>z = 70+ (20/32)×10

=> z = 70+ (5/8)×10

=> z = 70+ (5×10/8)

=> z = 70+(50/8)

=> z = 70+(25/4)

=>z = 70+6.25

=>z = 76.25

Answer:-

Mode of the given data is 76.25

Used formulae:-

  • Mode = (z) = l + [(f1-f0)/(2f1-f0-f2)]×h

  • l = Lower boundary of the modal class
  • f1 = Frequency of the modal class

  • f0= Frequency of the class preceding the modal class

  • f2 = Frequency of the class succeeding the modal class

  • h = size of the class

Step-by-step explanation:

Mode: l+[f1-f0/2f1-f0-f2] *h

=70+[32-12/2(32)-12-20]*10

=70+[20/64-32]*10

=70[25/4]= 70+6.25

=76.25

MODE = 76.25,,
