  • Its given that a Force of 40 N is applied on one direction

  • Let that direction be A

  • So there is a force of 50 N on a direction A

  • its also given that a force of 40 N is applied on the same object in the opposite direction so it becomes -40 N

  • And it is on a direction -A

  • So the net force can be found by using the above mentioned formula

50 N +(- 40 N ) [because - × + = -]

= 50 N - 40 N

=10N

As the force on the direction A is more than the force on the opposite side the object moves in the direction A
