To find out single Discount
Use formula A+B+(A∗B)/100
Lets Assume A = -16% and B = -8% ( -ive sign denote discount )

Therefore The Final Discount is
= -16 -8 + (-16× -8) /100
= -24 + ( 128) /100
= -24 + 1.28
= - 22.72

Hence the single equivalent discount of 16% and 8 % is 22.72 %
