The oils and chemicals can also tarnish silver jewelry or silver-plated jewelry. It can also damage precious stones and gems, diamonds etc. However, gold is known to be impervious to perfume and its chemicals. It is advised to dry off the perfume 10 minutes before wearing jewellery.

"Perfumes and any other types of sprays should not be sprayed with ornaments or jewellery. These sprays can make the silver tarnished on jewellery.

If perfume is applied to jewellers of gold or pearls, the colour of the jewellery is weakened or washed away.

Chemicals and fragrant oils in perfume may make jewellery or ornaments tarnished. We can use a silver polishing cloth or an ultrasonic jewellery cleaning machine to remove tarnish from silver jewellery."
