The main organ of United Nations is the General Assembly that includes all the members and hold sessions every year between September and December.

To assist the General Assembly there are six main committees. The other organs of UN are:

• The Security Council

• The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

• The International Court of Justice (ICJ)

• The Trusteeship Council

• The Secretariat

United Nations Organisation was founded on October 24 in 1945. This organisations ensures the world peace and protect the human rights. The charter of UNO was dropped by the Countries France, China, UK, USA and USSR. At first there were 51 member countries but now there are 193 countries.

UNO works through six different organs. Each organisation has its specific functions like maintaining peace, improving education, Providing justice etc.

The bodies which are responsible for these functions are :

⏩ International Court of of Justice

⏩ World Health Organisation

⏩ General Assembly

⏩ United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organisation.

⏩ United Nations Children's Emergency Fund.

⏩ Security Council.


The General Assembly is the main body where regular discussions between nations take place. But the discussions relating war are discussed in security Council. Where the veto powers have special status.
