The various traditional way of harvesting water are provided below :

(i) The technique used in the state Rajasthan is named as khadins and nadis.

(ii) In the state Maharashtra, the method of harvesting water is through Bandharas and tals.

(iii) In both states named Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pardesh, it is through bundhis.

(iv) In Bihar, it is done through Ahars and Pynes.

(v) In Tamil Nadu, it is done through tanks which are named as Eris.
