Answer:

g=GM/r^2

=GVd/r^2

= G(4/3)πr^3d/r^2 (Since earth is a sphere V=(4/3)πr^3)

g=(4/3)Gπrd

g=acceleration due to gravity

G=gravitational constant

M=Original mass of Earth

V=Original volume of Earth

d=density of Earth

r=Original radius of earth

New radius of earth=r1=r/2

New acceleration due to gravity

g1=(4/3)Gπr1d

=(4/3)Gπ(r/2)d

g1=g/2(Answer)

The acceleration due to gravity becomes half of the original value
