Answer:In 2005, the non-profit NGO ‘Siruthuli’ was founded in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to save the drying water bodies, lakes and rivers. ‘Siruthuli’ in Tamil means ‘a small drop’.
It consisted of a few socially conscious corporate companies and they worked hard to motivate and encourage the population of Coimbatore to come together and save the dying rivers and lakes. This public movement gradually grew, to include and address the other environmental issues facing the city. However, addressing problems related to water, continues to be the main focus of ‘Siruthuli’.
