Pratham NGO
Pratham is a well-known NGO ( Non Government Organisation) in Mumbai. Initially it’s aim was to provide pre-school quality education to under-privileged children living in slum area in Mumbai. Now it’s work is spread across more than 21 states where around a million children are benefited. It was founded by Madhav Chavan and Farida Lambay in the year 1994.
Pratham, in order to reach to grass-root level, introduced low cost education model which proved to be sustainable and reproducible. Pratham also publishes affordable and quality books for children in 10 Indian languages. In slum areas and remote rural areas where children are deprived of education, Pratham provides learning support system.
Along with this Pratham is also known for PCVC ( Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children), Vocational Skill Programme, Computer-aided Literacy Programme and Early Childhood Care and Education Programme.
