Answer:

meristematic tissues has a number of defining features, including small cells, thin cell walls, large cell nuclei, absent or small vacuoles, and no intercellular spaces. The apical meristem (the growing tip) functions to trigger the growth of new cells in young seedlings at the tips of roots and shoots and forming buds

Characteristics of Meristematic Tissue are as follows-

•It is and undifferentiated tissue.

•Continuous state of division is found in cell cycle of meristem which clears that they are made up of immature cells.

•Secondary cell wall is absent.

•Meristematic cells have only primary cell wall which is thin and flexible or elastic and made up of cellulose.

•They have prominent and large Nucleus.

•In it normally vacuoles are absent so there is small in size.

•Also Plastid are absent in it and if they are present then only in proplastid stage.

•They do not have intercellular spaces. Cells are closely arranged or we can say that closely fitted or packed together so it is a compact tissue.

•They are metabolically highly active so reserve food is absent in these cells.
