R= 1/5+1/10=2+1/10

=3/10

so R=10/3

R= 2+3+3/10

=20+30+3/10

=53/10=5.3ohm.

Explanation:

the equivalent resistance between X and y will be

first we will solve the middle one , u can see that they are in parallel condition so

1/5+1/10

3/10 = 10/3

now 2 ohm , 10/3 ohm which we have calculated above and 6 ohm are in series

so equivalent resistance is =2+10/3+6

=6+10+18/3

34/3 ohm is the right answer
