Thanks for asking this question. To answer simply, there are over 55 different companies in India which are producing Soaps and Toothpastes.

This includes both Large multi national companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson, Pear etc. These companies spend millions of dollars on advertising and cover the whole country.

There are also a number of regional brands which have established markets in few cities, regions and maybe a state or two
