in Buddhism......
the Mahayana and the hinayana groups both hold different beliefs regarding Buddha... whether he was a human being who attained enlightenment or a god in human form...
In Jainism.....
the shwetambaras and the Digambaras are entirely different groups having entirely different beliefs regarding their tirthankaras... regarding their lifestyles evolution and etc.
in Islam....
the Shias and the Sunnis hold different moral beliefs and... different holy books...

Similarly, in the Muslim community, there are Shiyas and Shunnis. In Jainas, there are Shwetambar and Digambar sects. In Buddha Dharma, there are Hinayaans and Mahayaans.
