Given-

Find out that which value of x is a solution to given equations.

b)2(4x+1)=42,(x=6,5,4)

please answer in process

Answer-

If x= 6

2(4x+1)=42

=  2(4 x 6 +1)=42

= 2(25)= 42

50=42

Which isnt correct so x=6 isnt right

If x= 5

2(4x+1)=42

=2(4 x 5+1)=42

= 2(20+1) = 42

2 (21)= 42

42=42

Here the LHS and rhs are balanced

So the right answer is x=5

Answer:

first substituting ' 6 ' in x place

2(4x+1)=42 => 2( [ 4 × 6 ] + 1 ) = 42

=> 2 × 25 = 42

=> 50 = 42

It is not equal , So , it is not the solution

Now substitute ' 5 ' in x place

2(4x+1)=42 => 2 ( [ 4×5 ] + 1 ) = 42

=> 2 × 21 = 42

=> 42 = 42

It is equal , So , it is the solution
