As to take out the number which is wrong we must establish a link within the numbers. The number which we would not be able to establish link is the wrong number.
First I may take the numbers that are on the odd places ( thatis 1,2,3,4.......). The numbers are 2, 38, 1172, 65806.
Then to establish a link between this numbers I may divide the numbers by 2
then, 2/2 ; 38/1172 ; 1172/2 ; 65806/2.
= 1 ; 19 ; 586 ; 32903

Therefore I have succeed in establishing a link within the numbers. Therefore no number from this numbers may be wrong. Now we may try to extablish a link between the numbers at places 1, 3 and 5 with numbers at places 2, 4, 6.

From numbers 2, 38, 1172 we may take the digits at ones place thatis 2, 8, 2 .
And we may also take our previous results that are 1, 19, 586.
Now to establish a link and find the wrong number I may subtract 2, 8, 2 by 1
so,
2-1=1
8-1=7
2-1=1
Then I may place this numbers on the ones place of 1, 19, 586 number. That will be,
1 | 1 ; 19 | 7 ; 586 | 1
= 11 ; 197 ; 5861

Therefore I obtained, 11 from 2
197 from 38
5861 from 1172

As from 2 and 38 we obtained 11 and 197 and also the numbers next to 2 and 38 is
11 and 197. So 11 and 197 are not wrong numbers.
But with 1172 we obtained 5861 and as the number beside 1172 is 8227. Then 8227 is the wrong number.

Therefore 8227 is the wrong number.
