Let the age of mine, my father and my grandfather be 25, 50, and 75 years respectively.

(a) Now, Age of mine = 25 years.

Age of my grandfather = 75 years.

This means my grandfather is thrice times older then me.

∴ Grandfather's age = 3 × My age

If my age is x (= 25) years and then my grandfather's age will be 3x years.

∴ Required linear equation is

Grandfather's age = 3x

(b) Mine age = 25 years.

My Father's age = 50 years.

It means my father is twice of mine age,

∴ Father's age = 2 × My age

Father's age = 2x

This is the Required linear equation of one variables.
