Find out the average speed and average velocity of a person moving on a straight path if he covers 100 m with a speed of 18km/h , next stretch with a speed of 8m/s for half a minute.He then turns around and moves by 150 m in 10s. This means he covers 100m with a speed of 5m/s

So to cover 100m he takes 20s

In the next stretch in half minute (30s) with a speed of 8m/s he will cover 240m

In the last stretch he goes 150m in 10s

Total distance covered = 100+240+150=490m

and total time taken = 20+30+10=60s= 1minute

So average speed = 490m/1minute

=490metre per minute
