• Pottery is one of the important and well known items made in the states of North- Eastern India.
• Major constituent of pottery is clay which is basically Feldspar and contains elements like aluminum , potassium and silicon.
• It has been found that clay minerals are made up of multiple sheets silicon dioxide ($SiO_2$) and  aluminum oxide ($Al_2O_3$) linked through bridging oxygen atoms.
• Also water ($H_2O$) is another major compound used in pottery making.
• Cane furniture and products are also very well known materials made by the craftsmen on North-East.
• Cane is basically obtained from bark of a rattan tree . From this , one can infer that major elements present in cane is carbon, hydrogen and oxygen . Cellulose and lignin form a major part of tree bark and both contain organic elements.
