people in olden times mostly travelled from place to place by walk. kings and rich people owned horses, or bullock carts and travelled through them. cycles were introduced much later. carts were pulled by horses and oxes. for transportation in water, they used simple and small boats which were made of bamboo or other kinds of trees, etc. people then used to walk for miles together. trains were fueled with coal and water, steam trains were also used but they were not very fast like now.
