According to Newton's third law of motion..... the net force is zero.
example: You push a wall with 10N. the wall exerts the same amount of force on you therefore wall does not move.

If two equal and opposite forces are acting along the same line of action,i.e., their perpendicular direction from the centre of mass of the object is zero then the net force is zero.
