In a non-leap year, there are 365 days = 52 weeks + 1 day.

That 1 - day may be :

(i) Monday

(ii) Tuesday

(iii) Wednesday

(iv) Thursday

(v) Friday

(vi) Saturday

(vii) Sunday


Total number of possible outcomes n(S) = 7.


Now,

Let A be the event of getting 53 Mondays.

n(A) = 1.


Therefore, required probability P(A) = n(A)/n(S)

                                                         = 1/7.
