Here is the answer.
Thermocols are very good insulator of heat.
They tend to maintain the temperature fixed by stopping the movement of heat and mass across the boundary.
So, as there is no heat transfer taking place between the box and the surrounding the temperature of the ice remains unchanged and it doesn't get any external heat as well.
So it doesn't melt.

Thermocol box is made up of polystyrene ,a kind of synthetic plastic which is a bad conductor of heat. Hence prevents the flow of heat from surrounding air entering into box. As it acts as insulator for transmission of heat, Ice kept in thermocol does not melt fast and retains coolness for longer time.
