Hey friend,
Sunlight falls perpendicularly in places on and near the equator. Since places located in southern India are closer to the equator, they receive maximum sunlight and places in northern India are farther from the equator that is why, it receives less sunlight. Thus places in located in south India are warmer than those in north.
