find oxidation number in Na2O2

Hey!
Here is ur answer....

each o has charge -2
then o2 will have charge -4
now, let the oxidation state for each Na atom be x

for Na2O2,
the equation will be 2x + (-4) = 0
then, 2x - 4 = 0
2x = 4
x = 2
