Find p(0), p(1) and p(2) for each of the following polynomials:

(i) p(y) = y^2– y + 1
(ii) p(t) = 2 + t + 2t^2– t^3

i. p ( 0 ) = 0^2 - 0 + 1

= 0 - 0 + 1

= 1

p ( 1 ) = 1^2 - 1 + 1

= 1 - 1 + 1

= 1

p ( 2 ) = 2^2 - 2 + 1

= 4 - 2 + 1

= 2 + 1

= 3

ii. p ( 0 ) = 2 + 0 + 2*0^2 - 0^3

= 2 + 0 + 0 - 0

= 2

p ( 1 ) = 2 + 1 + 2*1^2 - 1^3

= 2 + 1 + 2 - 1

= 5 - 1

= 4

p ( 2 ) = 2 + 2 + 2*2^2 - 2^3

= 2 + 2 + 8 - 8

= 4
