Answer:

x + 1 = 0

x = -1 ( first case )

x + 2 = 0

x = - 2 ( second case )

substituting x = - 1 in the expression

(-1)^3 + 3(-1)^2 - 2p(-1) + q

-1 +3 + 2p + q

2 + 2p + q

2 ( 1 + p + q )= 0

p + q = -1 ...............equation i

substituting x = -2 in the same expression

(-2)^3 + 3 (2)^2 + - 2p( -2) + q

8 + 12 + 4p +q

20 + 4p + q = 0

4( 5 + p + q ) = 0

p + q = - 5 ...................equation ii

solving u can do it I think

hope it helps
