2x - 3y = 5

=> 2x = 5 + 3y

(let y = 1)

=> 2x = 5 + 3(1)

=> 2x = 5 + 3

=> x = 8/2

=> x = 4

so,

2px - (2p +3)y = 5p

(putting the value of x and y in the equation)

2p(4) - (2p+3)1 = 5p

=> 8p - 2p - 3 = 5p

=> 6p -5p = 3

=> p = 3
