Question :-

Find perimeter of a square if its diagonal is 10√2cm A) 10 cm B)40√2cm C)20cm D)40cm

Answer :-

  • D) 40cm

Step by step explanation :-

We have a measure if diagonal of a square and we have to find the perimeter, when we have to find the perimeter of square and using diagonal then the formula as follows :

\rm:\longmapsto{Perimeter_{ (\square)} = 2 \sqrt{2} d}

Now, we substitute the value of diagonal and find the perimeter,

\rm:\longmapsto{Perimeter_{(\square)} = 2 \sqrt{2} (10 \sqrt{2}) } \\  \\ \rm:\longmapsto{Perimeter_{(\square)} =20 \sqrt{4}  } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\ \rm:\longmapsto{Perimeter_{(\square)} = 20(2)} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\ \bf:\longmapsto \red{Perimeter_{(\square)} = 40cm} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

To find :

The perimeter of square when diagonals are :

1] 102 cm

2] 10 cm

3] 402 cm

4] 20 cm

5] 40 cm

Formula to be used :

  • Area of square = side×side
  • area of square = diagonal²/2
  • side of square = area
  • perimeter = 4×side

Solution :

1] Given diagonal = 102 cm

so, area = (102)²/2

area = 100×2/2

area = 100 cm²

so, side = area

side = 100

side = 10 cm

so, perimeter = 10×4

perimeter = 40 cm

hence your answer is d)40 cm
