Section Formula States the following:

 \frac{m}{n}  =  \frac{a - b}{c - a}
Where a is the abscissa of the point that divides the line segment.
Substituting the values,
 \frac{m}{n }  =  \frac{ - 3 + 5}{  - 2 + 3}  =  \frac{2}{1}
Similarly, you can obtain the value of P
 \frac{m}{n}  =  \frac{2}{1}  =  \frac{p + 4}{3 - p}
Which gives:
6 - 2p =  - 4 + 6 \\ 2p = 4 \\ p = 2
