1/3 now multiply both numerator and denominator by 2 i.e = 1/3×2/2 = 2/6

now multiply 1/2 by 3 I.e = 1/2×3/3 = 3/6

so now we can see no rational number between 2/6 and 3/6 now multiply it by a same no. I.e you multiply both by2
2/6×2/2= 4/12
3/6× 2/2 = 6/12
now there is one rational number between 4/12 & 6/12
I.e answer = 5/12

⅓ and ½

Take LCM, LCM is 6

→ ⅓×2/2 and ½×3/3

→ 2/6 and 3/6

We need to find one rational number between them,so multiply and divide 2 for both numbers.

→ 2/6 ×2/2 and 3/6×2/2

→ 4/12 and 6/12

The rational number between them is 5/12.
