To find rational numbers between any 2 nos, u have to insure that :

I. Denominators of both the numbers are same.

Ones it's done, u have to check whether how many numbers lies in between them, for example, 4 numbers will lie between 2/4 and 7/4.

Now, if u are asked for 5 rational numbers, u can either

I. Multiply Numerator and Denominator with greater numbers than 5, I. e. 10 or any no. u like.

II. Multiply Numerator and Denominator with one number greater than 5, I. e. 6 to get exact 5 numbers.

Then u can select any 5 rational numbers between them

Note: You cannot select the number which is asked, example if they gave u 2/8 and 8/8 and asked u to find 5 rational numbers between them, then u cannot take 2/8 or 8/8 as one of the 5 numbers.
