bx + ay = ab is the relation between x & y if points (x,y),(a,0),and(0,b) are collinear

Step-by-step explanation:

(x,y),(a,0),and(0,b) are collinear

=> Slope are equal

=> Slope = (b - 0)/(0 - a) = - b/a

Slope =  (y - b)/(x - 0) =   (y - b)/x

Slope =  (y - 0)/(x - a) =  y/(x - a)

(y - b)/x  = -b/a

=> ay - ab = -bx

=> bx + ay = ab

or

y/(x - a) = -b/a

=> ay  = -bx + ab

=> bx + ay = ab

relation between x and y   bx + ay = ab
