p(x) = x^3 - 3x^2 + 3x -1

p(1/2) = (1/2)^3 - 3×(1/2)^2 + 3×1/2 -1

= 1/8 - 3/4 +3/2 -1

= 1/8 -(3×2/4×2) + (3×4/2×4) -1

= 1/8 - 6/8 + 12/8 - 8/8

=1-6+12-8/8

=-1/8
