Find resultant of two forces of 10 kN and 12 kN, emerging from a point. Angle between two forces is 50° . Also find the resultant angle with respect to force of 12kN using law of parallelogram of forces.

Answer:let r be resultant force

r²=f1²+f2²+2f1f2cosФ

r²=244+240cos50

r²=244+154.26

r²=398.26

r=19.95

resultant angle⇒tanФ=12×sin50/(10+12cos50)

                            tanФ=9.19/17.71

                             tanФ=0.5(approx)

                              Ф=27.4°
