find root of -3x^2+5x+12=0​

-3*12 = 36

Factors for 36 are 9*4

Then the above eqn can be written as

-3x^2+9x-4x+12=0

By solving

3x(-x+3)+4(-x+3)

(3x+4)(3-x)

Therefore x= - 4/3, 3
