2 {x}^{2}   + x - 6 = 0

2 {x}^{2}  + 4x - 3x - 6 = 0

2x(x + 2) - 3(x + 2) = 0

(x + 2)(2x - 3) = 0

x + 2 = 0

x =  - 2

2x - 3 = 0

2x = 3

x =  \frac{3}{2}

Therefore roots of the quadratic equation are -

x =  - 2 \: and \:  \frac{3}{2}
