Answer:

x²+5x -1 =0

D= 5²- 4×1×-1 = 25+ 4= 29

alpha = - 5 + 29/2×1 = 24/2=12

beta = -12

Roots of the equation are = 12, -12

D = - 4ac

D = 5² - 4 × 1 × (-1)

D = 25 + 4

D = 29

x = -b + D/2a

x = -5 + 29/2

or

x = -b - D/2a

x = -5 - 29/2

Therefore,

roots of equation = x = (-5+29/2),(-5-29/2)
