x =  \sqrt{t + 3}

we know speed is dx/dt

so differentiate it

by chain rule .

 \frac{dx}{dt}  =  \frac{d( \sqrt{t + 3}) }{(d(t + 3))}  \times  \frac{d(t + 3)}{dt}

 =  \frac{1}{2 \sqrt{t + 3 } }  \times t

at t = 1 sec

 =   \frac{1}{2 \sqrt{4} }

 =  \frac{1}{4}  = 0.25m \: per \: second
