 \boxed { \rm \purple{ Subject }}  \leadsto To read good books

 \boxed { \rm \purple { Predicate }}  \leadsto is delightful.

Let's see some sentences :-

1. Mary had a little lamb.

2. Little Hari is the cleverest boy in the class.

3.The poor old woman gets little food.

Here,

Subject :-

• Mary, Little Hari, The poor old woman

Predicate :-

• had a little lamb, is the cleverest boy in the class, gets little food.

 \boxed { \large \sf \purple { Subject }}

  \leadsto The subject of a sentence is a word or a group of words about which something is being said.

We can also say that the subject of a sentence is that which is its theme, that which is being discussed.

 \boxed { \large \sf \purple{ Predicate }}

\leadsto The part which tells about the subject is called predicate.

 \boxed { \large \sf \purple {Need \: To \:  Remember }}

The subject is normally placed at the beginning of the sentence,so we can find it easily.

But in poetry or creative writing the subject might come after the predicate. Like "Out flew the web, and floated wide." Here "web" is subject.

 \boxed { \large \sf \purple { How \: to \: find \: the \: subject?}}

If you'll get the subject,then other part will be the predicate. So the main thing is we have to find the subject.

To identify the subject,we just have to pick out the verb and frame questions like "who+verb" or "what+verb". The words or phrases that answer these questions constitute the subject.
