Given: mass of blocks = 5kg, 3kg and 2kg

           The angle of inclination =30°

To find: Ratio of T₁/T₂

Solution:

Let acceleration of the system be a.

For, a body of mass 2kg,

Weight - Tension on the wire due to 2kg mass = mass × acceleration

20 - T₂ = 2a ( Let this be equation 1)

Now for mass 5kg,

T₁ - mgSin30 = ma

T₁ - 5g/2 = 5a

T₁ - 25 = 5a ( Let this be equation 2)

For mass 3 kg,

T₂ - T₁ -maSin3o = ma

T₂ - T₁ - 3g/2 = 3a

T₂ - T₁ - 15 = 3a (Let this be equation 3)

Now add equation 2 and 3 which gives -

T₂ - 40 = 8a

T₂ = 8a + 40

T₂ = 8(a + 5)

T₂ =  20 - 2a (Let this be the equation 4)

Equating both the equation 4 and 1 we get,

20 - 2a = 8a + 40

10a = 20-40

a = -2m/s²

Now putting the value of acceleration in equation 1

T₁ - 25 = 5a

T₁ = 5(-2) + 25

   = -10 + 25 = 15 m/s²

Now, putting the value of acceleration in equation 2

T₂ =  20 - 2a

   = 20 - 2(-2)

   16 m/s²

Ratio of T₁/T₂ = 15/16

Therefore, the value of T₁/T₂ = 15/16
