Question:

Find ten rational numbers between \dfrac{8}{3} and \dfrac{7}{4}.

Solution:

By taking LCM of 3 and 4

LCM = 12

 \dfrac{8}{3} \times \dfrac{4}{4} = \dfrac{32}{12}

 \dfrac{7}{4} \times \dfrac{3}{3} = \dfrac{21}{12}

The ten rational numbers between \dfrac{32}{12} and \dfrac{21}{12} are:

 \dfrac{31}{12}, \dfrac{30}{12}, \dfrac{29}{12}, \dfrac{28}{12}, \dfrac{27}{12}, \dfrac{26}{12}, \dfrac{25}{12}, \dfrac{24}{12}, \dfrac{23}{12}, \dfrac{22}{12}

Or

 \dfrac{31}{12}, \dfrac{5}{2}, \dfrac{29}{12}, \dfrac{7}{3}, \dfrac{9}{4}, \dfrac{13}{6}, \dfrac{25}{12}, \dfrac{2}{1}, \dfrac{23}{12}, \dfrac{11}{6}
