If ' x ' is Third Proportion of ' a ' and

' b ' .

Then ,

a : x = x : b

x² = ab

x = √ ab

According to the problem given,

a = 24 , b = 54

x = √ ( 24 × 54 )

x = √ ( 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3)

x = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

x = 36
