Now, Length is doubled

So, then new length will be = 2a cm

Area of square = (2a)² → 4a² cm²

Ratio of new area by previous area

 \frac{ {a}^{2} }{4a {}^{2} }

a²/a² will be cut so, the ratio will be

 \frac{1}{4}
