Let (x 1,y 1 )=(2,3) and (x 2 ,y 2 )=(6,6)

d= (x 2−x 1 ) 2+(y-2−y 1 )2

= (6−2) 2 +(6−3) 2

d= 4 2 +3 2 = 16+9 =25

∴d=5 units.
