4 , 7 , 10 , ...., 88 is an A. P

First term = a = 4

Common difference = d = a2 - a1

d = 7 - 4 = 3

Now , Rearrange the terms right to

Left

88 , 85 , 82 , .... , 10 , 7 , 4

In this new A.P ,

First term = a = 88

d = 85 - 88 = -3

n = 12

12 th term = a12

a12 = a + 11d

= 88 + 11 × ( -3 )

= 88 - 33

= 55

Therefore ,

Required term = a12 = 55
